Your website works 24 hours a day — but is it working for you or against you? Many business sites look fine at a glance yet lose potential customers at every step. These are the five problems we see most often, and practical ways to fix each one.
Speed is the first impression. Google’s research shows that as page load time goes from one to three seconds, the chance of a visitor leaving rises sharply — and it keeps climbing after that. On mobile networks, heavy images and bloated themes are the usual culprits.
How to fix it: compress and resize images (WebP is ideal), remove unused plugins and scripts, use good hosting with caching, and lazy-load anything below the fold. Test your pages on Google PageSpeed Insights and aim for a mobile score above 80.
If your homepage headline says “Welcome to our website” or “Excellence in everything”, visitors have to work to understand you. Most won’t bother. The top of your homepage should answer three questions instantly: what you offer, who it’s for and why you’re the right choice.
How to fix it: write a headline that names the outcome you deliver (“Websites that turn visitors into enquiries”), add one supporting sentence, and show a single clear button. Use real photos of your work or team instead of generic stock images.
We regularly audit sites with five different buttons competing for attention, or a contact form buried at the bottom of one page. Every extra decision you ask visitors to make reduces the chance they’ll act.
How to fix it: choose one primary action per page — book a call, request a quote, shop now — and repeat it in the header, after key sections and at the end. Make buttons look like buttons, use action words, and keep forms short. Asking for name, email and a message is usually enough.
More than half of web traffic in India comes from mobile devices, and for many local businesses it’s over 70%. A site that needs pinching and zooming, has tiny tap targets or hides the phone number loses those visitors immediately.
How to fix it: test every key page on a real phone. Make sure text is readable without zooming, buttons are at least 44px tall, menus are simple, and your phone number and WhatsApp link are one tap away.
People buy from businesses they trust. If your site has no testimonials, case studies, client logos, reviews or clear contact details, visitors have no reason to believe your claims.
How to fix it: add two or three short testimonials with names and photos, show results with real numbers where you can, display your address and contact details clearly, and make sure your site has HTTPS. A simple “Our work” page with before-and-after examples can dramatically increase enquiries.
Spend 15 minutes going through your own site with these questions:
If your site fails one or two of these checks, targeted fixes may be enough. If it fails most of them, or your business has changed since the site was built, a redesign usually delivers a better return. Either way, measure enquiries before and after so you can see the impact.
Before fixing anything, set up a simple baseline. Install Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console, track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks as conversions, and note your current monthly enquiries.
Then change one or two things at a time and compare results over four to six weeks. This tells you what actually moves the needle, so future budget goes into improvements that pay for themselves rather than redesigns based on guesswork.
